Bolognese Sauce
Quick Easy Bolognese Sauce. I’ve done it lots of times.
Traditionally it’s building a tomato sauce – with the addition of wine and milk – on top of the ground meat. It involves cooking the meat and the sauce ingredients for like 2- 4 hours.
WAIT!
But, what about the working folks who want to sit down to a good meal. But, don’t have the time on a weeknight to wait 2 – 4 hours to for the Bolognese Sauce to come together. So, I did this and it worked out very well.
Quick Easy Bolognese Sauce
First put a pot on that is big enough to handle the ground beef and the sauce. Set the heat at medium high. Eyeball a couple of tablespoons of olive oil. Put in the beef and break it up with a spoon or flipper.
Break it up and stir it as it gets cooked.
When it is all browned add the wine and milk.
Mix it all together and add the sauce. I make big batches of marinara sauce and can it. Here’s the recipe. But, a good jarred sauce off the shelf in your grocery store would work. Out of all of the choices I recommend Buitoni.
Add the sauce.
And, stir it all together.
Stir it a few times as it all cooks together. Adjust the heat for a fast simmer. The wine and the milk will reduce. After about ten minutes your Bolognese Sauce is ready to serve.
I had mine with penne pasta, and some Chianti. Gammy had hers with some spiraled zucchini and some Pinot Grigio.
When we have some sitting in the fridge we use it in Lasagna and on Pizzas also.
