Fettuccini Alfredo Recipe – it’s easy

Fettuccini Alfredo Recipe

This Fettuccini Alfredo Recipe is very easy and VERY good. It only uses five ingredients and only takes fifteen minutes, max. And I’m gonna say it again. IT IS VERY GOOD!! Wikipedia says that it dates back to the 1500’s but was made famous by a restaurant owner/chef named Alfred at his restaurant in Rome in the  early 1900s.

Here are the only ingredients that you will need

  • 1 tbsp. salt
  •  6-8oz. -about a half of a box – of fettuccini
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese – not the stuff that is already grated. They have ingredients added that “prevent caking.” That prevents it from blending with the butter and the cream  Grate yours from a chunk of parmesan
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 stick -aka 1/2 cup – butter

And here is how to make your Fettuccini Alfredo

Put a pot of water on for the  pasta. Add the salt and the pasta. As the water heats up and the pasta softens grab it with a pair of tongs and swirl down into the water. Check on it as it cooks and when it is al dente grab it with the tongs and add it to the skillet.

As soon as you put the pasta on also put a skillet on that is large enough to handle the pasta when you transfer the cooked pasta to it. Set it at low.

This is what is going to go into the skillet. The heavy cream, grated parmesan cheese and butter.
