Chicken Filets with Lemon and Basil

Chicken Filets that you will really like. They are a kind of different spin on our quick easy lemon chicken . The garlic for this recipe is sliced instead of chopped and cooked in the liquids instead of frying it in the oil. The garlic flavor combined with the lemon juice, wine, butter and basil flavors makes very nice and very quick chicken dinner.
Ingredients for your Chicken Filets with Lemon and Basil
These amounts are for 4 servings. If you want different servings amounts scroll down to the recipe card that is below this posting. There you can change the number of servings and it will change all of the amounts of the ingredients. Also you can switch the amounts to metric.
- Olive oil
- 4 boneless skinless chicken filets – about 6 ounces each.
- salt and pepper – to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Juice from 1 large lemon – (about 3 tablespoons)
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 6 large cloves garlic – skinned and sliced thin
- 3/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves or 3/8 cup dried parsley flakes.
Put a skillet on at medium high and eyeball just enough olive oil to coat the bottom. Salt and pepper the chicken and lay the filets in the skillet. About 2-4 ,minutes a side depending on their thickness. Slice up the garlic cloves and chop up the basil while the filets are cooking. When they are firm to a poke or the juices are running out clear or they read 165°F on a meat thermometer add all of the rest of the ingredients except the basil.
Mix the liquids and turn over the filets a few times as the wine reduces and thickens a little. Then just before serving add the basil and stir things up getting the basil mixed into the sauce.
Then spoon some of the sauce and the basil on the filets when you serve them. Enjoy your Lemon Basil Garlic chicken filets.
