I called it New York Strip Steak Italian Style because, well, I sprinkled the steaks with garlic powder before I put them in the skillet. And, when the second side was about halfway cooked I splashed some Chianti on them and let them finish cooking that way. It turned out real good.
It’s easy. Just put a skillet on at medium high and eyeball just enough olive oil to coat the bottom. Sprinkle both sides of the steaks with garlic powder and black pepper.
Carefully lay them in the skillet and give them a bout 3-6 minutes a side depending on their thickness and how well done that you like them. After one side is done and you turn them over add the splash of chianti. To check them to see how well done they are you could use a meat thermometer or just poke them with a finger. Of course they will be pretty soft for rare and pretty firm for well done.
I multi tasked and put together some Pasta Aglia e olio and a tossed caprese salad with some olives added. The whole New York Strip Steak Dinner was on the table in 25 minutes. I timed it.
And here is a very good and very Easy Steak pizzaiola recipe
