Tiramisu

Easy Tiramisu – no cooking – quick and easy – no eggs

Easy Tiramisu

This Easy Tiramisu recipe is quicker and easier than the traditional recipes made with raw eggs. And it is just as good. In fact I had made it the raw egg style for years and I can’t tell the difference. Tiramisu is great with a cup of coffee in the morning or as a dessert after dinner. When there is a batch in the fridge I can’t open the door without treating myself to a spoonful or two. And EVERYONE that I have ever shared it with really likes it.

“To live a full life, you have to fill your stomach first”

Here is what you will need for your Easy Tiramisu- and there some substitutions that will make it even quicker and easier

  • a 9×9 inch deep baking pan.
  • 1 1/2 cups of espresso – or you can just get some packets of instant espresso or strong coffee
  •  two 8 oz. containers of the already whipped cream
  • 2 eight oz. packs of mascarpone cheese – softened. Or if you can’t find any mascarpone substitute with cream cheese. It will still taste great.
  • 1  appx. 8 oz. pack of crisp lady fingers – not the spongy soft kind. I get these at our local grocery store.

ladyfingers

  • powdered chocolate – for dusting
  • 2 Tbsp. coffee flavored liquor or sambuca  (optional)

How to make your Easy Tiramisu

Put the whipped cream in a bowl.

Fold in the softened mascarpone cheese (or cream cheese). If your cheese is still cold from the fridge unwrap it and  give it about 30 seconds in the microwave to soften it up.

Put the coffee in a shallow bowl (and the liquor if you are using it).  One at a time lay a lady finger in the coffee and quickly turn it over. Don’t let it get soggy.

Then add it to the pan.

lady fingers for tiramisu

After you have the first layer of lady fingers in the pan add enough of the cheese and whipped cream mixture to make the first layer and spread it around.

Repeat the process until you fill up the pan or you run out of stuff. Then with a strainer sprinkle on the powdered chocolate. Sometimes I sprinkle the chocolate on each layer and sometimes I hold back the chocolate for just the topping. Depends on my mood.
