Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 10 – 12 large shrimp – peeled and deveined
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 lemon thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes

Here’s how to make your Spicy Lemon Shrimp happen

I’ll bet that you keep a bag of frozen, peeled and deveined large shrimp in the freezer. To have it thawed out and available you could move what you are going to need from the freezer to the refrigerator in the morning or thaw out the frozen shrimp in the microwave – it just takes a minute or two – or put the frozen shrimp in a bowl of cold water and in about four or five minutes they’ll be ready to go.

Put a skillet on that is big enough to handle the shrimp spread out in one layer. Set it at medium high and add about 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Lay the shrimp out in the skillet and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder and red pepper flakes. Give them about a minute and a half then turn them over and spice up the other side. As they are cooking chop up the parsley and slice the lemon.

After you have turned them over and spiced them up add the lemon slices and the parsley. Give it about another minute and a half. When the shrimp are pink on both sides and opaque in the middle they are done.  Toss a couple of times to get it all mixed together.
