Set the oven at 450°F. Cut the stump ends off the asparagus and cut the stalks in half. Put the asparagus in a bowl and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Then a generous grated parmesan treatment. Toss it all together.
Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and spread the spears out on it. Put it in the oven and check it with a poke of a fork after about five minutes. Check them every minute or so until they are done the way that YOU like them. They are a real good and very tasty vegetable side dish. Don't forget! This is also great as finger food.
